Mickie is originally from Pennsylvania, and has been enjoying a nomadic lifestyle for about three years. She's been writing since she was a child and learned about NaNoWriMo when she was in high school. Since 2010, she has participated in every NaNo, being awarded several years in a row.

One of her main goals during high school was to self-publish a book - which she did complete. While taking classes earlier this year at LSC-Tomball, she learned about and joined this writing project. As of late, she's been pursuing Journalism and living near Dallas, Texas, after taking a hiatus for the summer to visit the Western countryside.
